Or go to the blue board.
Despite some peoples' animosity towards it, it really helped me in some areas (though I'm nowhere near pedal noise area yet) and Crochambeau, Rev Bucky and XDUGEF (among others) are some very smart, informative people

I mean, I'm more than glad to help out if the poster really doesn't know what a feedback loop is, but I feel that this is just an attempt at trolling.

If not for him, then how about for me?
I always thought a feedback loop involved cutting up a tape.

Re: What is a feedback loop ?
that's a tape loop
a feedback loop is when you have a mixer and a cord and you plug one end of the cord into the mixer into an input jack while the other end is plugged into an output jack.
so like this:
the FXs aren't necessary, but they provide more variability with the sound produced.
Another similar technique is getting a pedal with 2 output jacks, have 1 cord going from one output jack into the input, and the other to either more pedals, a mixer, or an amp.

Re: What is a feedback loop ?
So the pedals from the mixer input go back into an AUX output as opposed to the "main" one (I've neever used a mixer so I'm only slightly familiar with them).
What does the feedback do thats different from just using a cable going into the recorder/speakers from the last pedal in use?

Re: What is a feedback loop ?
Well since it's a loop between the input jack and the output jack, it generates feedback that can be altered through the pedals or any of the knobs on the mixer for the input in use.
It's hard to explain, easy to show. Maybe once my amp is fixed I'll start making "noise for dummies" videos. Not that you're a dummy, just referring to the books.

Re: What is a feedback loop ?
Only the first part--the part about fucking up expensive-ass gear--makes me cringe. Then again, when I don't have to money anyways so...
Sarcasm aside, thanks for pardoning my laziness with the video.

Re: What is a feedback loop ?
That only applies to dumbasses. You have to start off having your speakers/amp set to zero, then you gradually raise the volume after you already have the feedback loop producing the loudest sound it can make. That's because a feedback loop produces a sound that's much louder than any other input and the main volume must be set much lower when using a feedback loop. Dumbasses don't know this, start fucking around with a feedback loop and end up blowing out their amp.
Re: What is a feedback loop ?
i have done a feedback loop w/ my DJ mixer but not my Tapco. i gave up on feedback loops when i blew up 2 practice amps & a slide projector PA.
Re: What is a feedback loop ?
I think they work best with amps that have lots of power and/or an onboard mixer.
Re: What is a feedback loop ?
i have that Pioneer Stereo Reverb SA-60 unit & it makes this awesome feedback loop when you hit the "wrong" button. been meaning to just run it out thru dirtandelay but i never got around to it.
Re: What is a feedback loop ?
As a poor man, my feedback loops involve puting the mic right up on the amp then screaming at a contact.
