dark ambient is cool, but like with pretty much every other genre or niche ever, i can't stand the purists.

sometimes i like to make my own dark ambient, tune the synth down 2 octaves and set it to continuously play one note, when i get bored with it i'll pick a knob and mess with it. lots of fun!

goddamn i love dark ambient.

seriously i'm not just being a smartass. it helps my blood pump better.

the worst "rule" is banning. which was the impetus for this board in the fucking first place; obviously, there is a demand for a non-banning board. let it exist. contribute. filter. discourse.

i dont listen to much dark ambient.
but maybe now i do
this is a band called AGHAST. some of you may know about it
the cover of the album has a black metal feel but dont get it wrong. it is very dark and very ambient. creepy as fuck. you should check it out.

I like that dark ambient is a pretty loose term. Sometimes very noise oriented, sometimes not at all. Brighter Death Now - The Slaughterhouse is one of my favorites of what I think falls under the dark ambient umbrella. And yes, Lustmord is the man.
