Re: Electro-Harmonix.
I really like mine, except for the stupid size of the thing. turn the feedback & amount controls all the way up and it will self-oscillate, roll 'em back a bit and with the right settings turning the rotary switches can give you a sort of struck metal sound with an input sound source. it will do all the crazy sweeping flange and phaser noises, but the really beauty of it is in finding those spots where it more subtly shapes the signal.

Re: Electro-Harmonix.
eh.. i dunno. EHX in general? these guys are pretty damn stupid. To me, stuff like Holy Grail is worse than behringer.. shittiest construction i've ever seen. The more compact effects are better though, they must've figured out that flimsy pedals with loose inputs/ outputs aren't very practical.
This cathedral thing looks good, although flerb and reverse are useless. I hope this is less metallic sounding than other reverbs.

Re: Electro-Harmonix.
valid critque. i keep hearing. i don't have much experience w/ EHX mostly. just one pedal.
but based on that critique would you say that maybe Digitech is a better brand than EHX becuz the have Boss-style enclosures?

Re: Electro-Harmonix.
it depends on the model. I don't want to diss EHX too much.. effects like holy grail plus and #1 echo seem well built to me. I'm talking about this style:
But ultimately you have to take into account sound too. Digitech is always solid, but sound isn't necessarily superior though. It only matters with delay & reverb, distortions etc. sound good to me.

Re: Electro-Harmonix.
ha ha. i think i mean, "Done with buying ANYMORE pedals..."
gonna get the Korg KP3 & then this Cathedral pedal. but anything after that. no. i still need a cheap delay. maybe still keep buying cheap pedals IDK. well, all i can say is that i want to keep my pedal family under 20 & i right now i have 13.
anyway. i REALLY need to focus more on recording & rack gear. i am really getting ate up on the recording end. i think aside from the other stuff, a Tascam Digital Multitrack may HAVE to be my next purchase. period.

Re: Electro-Harmonix.
nice. I've got a REALLY old delay pedal. It glitches out if you turn the "number of echos" knob all the way up. It echos a bunch and slowly fades into glitchy white noise. Pretty cool, actually. But alas, it isn't mine. Me and my neighbor found it in his basement and I've been borrowing that and some reverb boxes for a while.

Re: Electro-Harmonix.
lol, yeah. Without his stuff I'd only have 2 pedals... so yeah
ALL YOU PEDAL-PHILES BETTER SHARE!

Re: Electro-Harmonix.
just get some cheap Dano pedals. there's other cheap stuff too. i am sure the money you spend on bullshit like cigs or beer (or drugz...) you can have a pedal family in no time.
