Not to be a dick about it--believe me, I'm greatful you're relatively sensitive to the issue--but does it really matter how, when or if someone uses the word "fag?"

For me, the word has lost its meaning; you'll hear this guy call another guy a "fag" because he's an asshole, Or someone will do something totally stupid and another dude will call it "faggy." Granted, there's plenty of bigots and stupid fucks, ironically "fags" in their own right, who still use limityed vocabulary such as this to express their limited intelligence. And this is coming from a guy who lives relatively close to you; beyond Madison, Wisconsin is a surprisingly Republican-minded state, even though we generally vote democratic (Dane Co. being almost entirely so). At my school, there's been an increse in Nazi graffiti, and talking to one kid I now know at least one person within close(r) proximity to me wants to take gays out on a hunting range and try to shoot them.

I'm bisexual and, you know what? I still feel relatively secure, because that simple word, which admittedly only "half-applies" to me, is pretty minor considering some of the stuff that happens sround here and elsewhere. Even with those events in question: I know now not to associate with those ignorant fucks and I know I can go anywhere I need to surround myself with people I love, people i respect.

In case you were wondering, I asked that same kid why he wnated to shoot gays, and he cited the bible as a reason... then immediately said he "didn't really" believe in God. In the face of an atheist bisexual, he eventually admitted to being uncomfortable with flaming gays, to which i promptly cock-slapped his mind back into reality by giving him the simple fact that not all gay men are flaming nymphomaniacs, not all lesbians are butch, and if he ever shot at me I'd fucking rip his balls off and shove them down his throat.

I don't know what the guy thinks now, but I forgive him: he's young, taken in by the shallow allure of the post-Tony Hawk era, midwestern white trash sect and likely will never leave Wisconsin. All the more incentie for me to go elsewhere.
