I think there's also a way you can hook up two tape decks with an EQ or something. This actually seems to be a lot more effective in dubbing (depending on the machines of course) as some of those dual decks don't actually do anything to the copied tape when you fuck around with the EQ. Mine, for example, records as-is, which is helpful but Id really like to do more in the future.

uh, first off, when you "dub" a cassette it implies thats you are not altering the signal, its a copy, and yes, dual decks usually only make 'exact' copies, what you are referring to is called 'post production'...the biggest problem with DIY chaining of decks is the signal degradation from all the cords and connections and also the decks will all record with their own little quirks making each copy slightly different...durrhurr wrote:I think there's also a way you can hook up two tape decks with an EQ or something.
